The North American Network of Field Educators and Directors (NANFED) was founded in 1987 to promote the interests of social work field education. Re-incorporated in 2013 and established as a 501(c)3 in 2015, NANFED is a network of field educators working together to independently represent field educators, promote and celebrate quality field education, and support best practices in field education. Regional consortia of field educators work collaboratively with NANFED to pursue these goals. NANFED’s annual meeting takes place during the Annual Program Meeting (APM) of the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE).
